Our First Month

LIFAFFA – born of a dream to create a label that is environmentally sustainable and fashion forward. At LIFAFFA we committed to ethical fashion. We want to put forward fair practices, promote upcycling technologies and the use of more things natural. It is absolutely surreal  to realise that we turn 1 (month old) today! It has been a whirlwind of excitement, opportunities, some disappointments but most of all, it has been exhilarating and a super fun ride! It has been breathtaking to see such a widespread response to sustainable fashion.

Our Launch

Sustainable fashion became the new hot trend at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2017 (India) with a whole day dedicated to sustainable fashion. Our ecommerce website, launched with the #restart fashion show on the ‘sustainable fashion’ day. We got an immensely positive response with a lot of appreciation for creating contemporary fashion sustainably with the invention of HRP, a new fabric created from salvaged material like plastic waste to create sustainable faux leather, that is durable, waterproof and has an excellent feel and texture, which is very similar to leather.

Tapsee Pannu, was the highlight of the launch, when she wore a HRP wrap-around skirt for the promotions of her upcoming movie Judwaa 2.

Slow fashion, circular fashion, ethical fashion – these are all terms that are being used with an increasing sense of urgency. But what does it really mean to a consumer? And why is it important? 
While scraps of metal, glass, plastic, rubber can all be reused in their respective factories, textile scraps are sent to landfills. The tremendous growth in fast fashion has also led to a growing trend of wear-and-throw garments and accessories. This has in turn led to the fashion and textile industry becoming one of the most waste producing industries in the world.
With climate change on the rise, with the risk of countries drowning, with the populations booming, it is the need of the hour that we stop producing excessive waste and use our resources efficiently. 
LIFAFFA is producing fashion from salvaged materials. We are creating products that reduces each customer’s carbon footprint. At LIFAFFA, we follow a sustainable method of upcycling to produce products that are uniquely attractive, stylishly designed but are sustainable. This is our way of giving back to the society and trying to stay in sync with the current trends as well.
Though Sustainable fashion is still a new term in India , we aspire to make it a trend to look forward to.
